What are the benefits of good coding?The benefits of good coding may not be obvious at first glance, but when you use the site the problems of poor coding standards can become quickly apparent.
Badly coded sites often use table-based layouts which are highly inflexible, meaning modifications to the website are difficult and frequently compromise the initial design.
At VerulamIT we conform to W3C standards of using style sheets to split content from layout. This way content is easily modified without causing layout or usability issues.

Can you arrange hosting and domain registration? - Yes!We can arrange the registration of your chosen domain name(s) and the hosting of the website with proven, reliable hosting providers, such as 1and1 and 123-reg.
We also provide hosting packages where we look after all aspects of hosting, domain-name renewals, troubleshooting and minor updates for a fixed fee each year.
If you already have a registered and hosted domain that is fine, we just need the details of the hosting provider and account to enable us to access the site. This commonly the case when clients want a re-design of their site to freshen it up or add functionality.

Can the website be easily maintained?The benefits of good coding become apparent to the client when they need us to make minor changes to the site, such as updating content or changing colour schemes.
Quality, flexible designs can be modified without throwing away the content (as the content and styling are separated by using style sheets). This means the website is usuable for much longer and can grow and change effortlessly with your business and it's changing needs
With the strict use of style sheets and standards compliant design these are achieved effortlessly and quickly for us and therefore cheaply for the client!

Will the website be optimised for search engines?This another area where good design and coding comes into it's own.
Search engines have become increasingly sophisticated, it is no longer good enough to just use keywords and meta tags.
Google increasingly looks at the proper layout of web pages to check for ease of page navigation, proper use of XHTML markup (headers, lists, links etc) and relevancy of content.
Our designs have search engine optimization (SEO) built-in by our adherence to good coding practice and proper XHTML markup.
What WE do
After an initial meeting we will provide design templates for your website, incorporating your ideas, colour schemes etc and you pay nothing till you are happy with the design.
Quite simply, we put the pieces together!
